Maria Amelia Gomez

She was a member of Christ the King Church where she served as a Eucharistic minister. Melita enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her family. She loved making tamales for everybody.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Juanita Flores, brother Raul Gaona, and grandson Steven M. Gomez.

She is survived by her husband Manuel Gomez Sr., her sons: Manuel Gomez Jr. and wife Rosie, Melchor Gomez and wife Alma, Gaspar Gomez and wife Mary Catherine, her daughter Rita Lopez and husband Felipe. She is also survived by her grandchildren Denise Garcia, Felipe Lopez III, Jose Gomez, David Gomez, Veronica Gomez, and Rudy Torres. Ten great grandchildren Krystal Martinez, Silver Martinez, Ariana Gomez, Amanda, Embry, and Anel Gomez, Christian F. Lopez, Ailyn Kate Lopez, Rudy Torres Jr., and Elisa Maria Torres.

Visitation will be Wednesday February 23, 2011 from 1:00 pm until 9:00 with a rosary at 7 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista. Mass of Resurrection will be at Christ the King Catholic Church at 10 am on Thursday February 24, 2011 with interment to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
