

María Felipa Guerrero será recordada con profundo amor como una querida madre, abuela y bisabuela, cuya vida estuvo llena de sencillez, creatividad y momentos compartidos con las personas que más amaba.
María disfrutaba mucho de las actividades que le permitían expresar su creatividad. Entre sus pasatiempos favoritos se encontraban el punto de cruz y la costura, teniendo incluso el talento y la dedicación de confeccionar su propia ropa. Cada pieza que realizaba reflejaba su paciencia, habilidad y amor por crear con sus propias manos.
También encontraba alegría en los pequeños entretenimientos de la vida. Le gustaba resolver sopas de letras, jugar lotería y bingo, y especialmente pasar tiempo socializando con sus amistades en el centro de cuidado para adultos. Disfrutaba de la compañía de los demás, de las conversaciones y de esos momentos de convivencia que alegraban sus días.
Por encima de todo, María fue una madre, abuela y bisabuela muy querida. Su familia fue una parte importante de su vida, y los recuerdos compartidos con ella permanecerán para siempre en los corazones de quienes tuvieron la dicha de conocerla y amarla.
Maria Felipa Guerrero deja para honrar su recuerdo a sus hijos: Arturo Vasquez (Tonie), Carlos Vasquez (Margarita), Teresa Vasquez (Raul Barajas), Jose Angel Vasquez (Alma †), Vicente Vasquez y Guadalupe Andrade (Rafael). También le sobreviven sus nietos: Virginia Vasquez (Luis Castillo), Arturo Vasquez y Alessandra Vasquez; así como también deja atrás numerosos nietos y bisnietos”.
María Felipa Guerrero será profundamente extrañada por su familia, sus amistades y todos aquellos cuyas vidas tocó. Su recuerdo vivirá a través de las enseñanzas, las tradiciones y los hermosos momentos que deja como legado.
Le precedieron en el fallecimiento su esposo, Francisco Guerrero; su hija, Rosita Vasquez †; y sus padres, Apolinar Garcia † y Antonina Resendiz-Garcia †.
La velación se llevará a cabo en Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista, ubicada en 125 McDavitt Blvd., Brownsville, Texas 78521, el viernes 4 de septiembre de 2026, a partir de las 2:00 p. m., y continuará durante la noche hasta las 10:00 a. m. del sábado 5 de septiembre de 2026. El Santo Rosario se rezará el viernes 4 de septiembre a las 7:00 p. m. en la misma funeraria.
La Misa Fúnebre se celebrará el sábado 5 de septiembre de 2026 a las 10:00 a. m. en Holy Family Church, ubicada en 2405 E. Tyler St., Brownsville, Texas 78520.
Posteriormente, el cortejo fúnebre se dirigirá a La Palma Cemetery, ubicada en Tejon Rd., Brownsville, Texas 78521, donde se llevará a cabo el sepelio.

Maria Felipa Guerrero passed away on August 29, 2026, at the age of 96. She was a resident of Brownsville, Texas.
Maria Felipa Guerrero will be lovingly remembered as a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was filled with simplicity, creativity, and treasured moments shared with the people she loved most.
Maria greatly enjoyed activities that allowed her to express her creativity. Among her favorite pastimes were cross-stitching and sewing, and she had the talent and dedication to even make her own clothing. Each piece she created reflected her patience, skill, and love for making things with her own hands.
She also found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed completing word search puzzles, playing lotería and bingo, and especially spending time socializing with her friends at the adult daycare center. She enjoyed the company of others, good conversations, and the special moments of friendship that brightened her days.
Above all, Maria was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was an important part of her life, and the memories they shared with her will forever remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know and love her.
Maria Felipa Guerrero leaves to cherish her memory her children, Arturo Vasquez (Tonie), Carlos Vasquez (Margarita), Teresa Vasquez (Raul Barajas), Jose Angel Vasquez (Alma †), Vicente Vasquez, and Guadalupe Andrade (Rafael). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Virginia Vasquez (Luis Castillo), Arturo Vasquez, and Alessandra Vasquez, as well as numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Maria Felipa Guerrero will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. Her memory will live on through the lessons, traditions, and beautiful moments she leaves behind as her legacy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francisco Guerrero; her daughter, Rosita Vasquez †; and her parents, Apolinar Garcia † and Antonina Resendiz-Garcia †.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista, 125 McDavitt Blvd., Brownsville, Texas 78521, on Friday, September 4, 2026, beginning at 2:00 p.m. and continuing overnight until 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2026. The Holy Rosary will be recited on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 2405 E. Tyler St., Brownsville, Texas 78520.
Following the Funeral Mass, the funeral procession will proceed to La Palma Cemetery, located on Tejon Rd., Brownsville, Texas 78521, where burial will take place.
