Maria A. Lozano attended Immaculate Conception School and received an Associate's Degree from Texas Southmost College. She married Andres G. Lozano on May 20, 1973. Maria dedicated her life to Early Childhood Education. From 1982 - 1992 she worked as a teacher aide at Immaculate Conception School.
Later in 1996 she began work for Head Start, N.I.N.O.S, Inc. and worked there for over 20 years, until her retirement in 2022. She remembered all of her students by name and enjoyed retelling stories of sweet and funny things her students did and said. Maria was an exceptional employee and educator. She was always in a good mood and had an admirable positive view on the world around her.
She is survived by her husband Andres Lozano Sr.; children: Velma Lozano de Pena; Esmeralda Lozano Hong; Andres Gerardo Lozano Jr., grandchildren: Alejandra Gonzalez; Ana Sofia Gonzalez; Raul Pena Lozano.; Benjamin Hang; Isabella Hoang; Julieta Lozano; Andres Lozano III; Great grandchildren: Regina Arguello and Adriana Sofia Perez.
A visitation for Maria will be held Monday, February 27, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM in Chapel of Angels at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A mass will occur Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 2:00 PM at St Joseph Catholic Church, 555 W St Francis St, Brownsville, Texas 78521. Followed by a burial at 3:00 PM at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521.
