Maria Magdalena "Maggie" Silguero Estrada of Brownsville, Texas, devoted wife, sister, aunt, and friend rose to heaven on February 24, 2022, at Valley Regional Medical Center in the presence of her family members. Maggie was born in Brownsville, Texas to parents Raul Silguero Sr. and Maria Alvear Silguero. She grew up in Brownsville and graduated from Brownsville High School Class of 1967.
She was employed at S.H. Kress for numerous years, and this is where she met her loving husband Alfredo (Freddy) Estrada. They were married April 1, 1973. A few years later, she became a dedicated employee of Pan American Bank, Texas Commerce Bank, now known as Chase Bank, where she was employed for over 27 years. Because of her dedicated and genuine work ethic, she was very well respected by her peers and loved by her customers, thus developing lifelong friendships.
Maggie was a very loving, caring, and giving individual. Always the selfless one, putting everyone else first. Maggie enjoyed decorating, playing Loteria, spending time with her family, and enjoyed listening to music. In her younger years, she loved and enjoyed dancing with her beloved Freddy. Maggie had a heart of gold and was always willing to help out anyone in need. She will be remembered for her loving personality, her warmth and generosity, and her commitment to family members and friends. She touched many lives, both children and adults, contributed to many causes and achieved what she set out to do.
She always amazed the family with her quick wit and the gift of remembering birthdates, anniversaries, and important milestones - she was our walking encyclopedia. The family would like to thank her caregiver Nancy Luna and Jayme Hunter Silguero for her daily visits providing her with kindness, love, and support.
Dearest Maggie, the day that you were born you became our sister, the day you died you became our Guardian Angel. We love you, and we will miss you dearly. You will always be in our hearts!
