Maria Luisa was born in Los Fresnos, Tx on August 17, 1946. She attended school and lived in Los Fresnos until she got swepted away by her beloved husband Jose Noe Puente†. She loved dancing, gambling ( casinos) and spending time with all her kids. She lighted up the room with her presence. She was the kindest kid (as we used to call her) with the biggest heart. She always thought of others. She had a way of finding her way into your heart, whether you wanted her to or not. She loved calling and telling her family to tell her jokes. Her relaxing time, she loved playing games on her IPad. Don't forget she also loved watching her " shows"- Nobody would bother her at that time. But by far, family was the most important thing to our mother, Maria Luisa.
Maria is survived by her daughter Cynthia Puente; her daughter Diana Elliott; her daughter Veronica Woods (Jim); and her daughter Melissa Guevera (Johnny); her brother Rosendo "Roy" Leal (Yolanda) and her sister Margarita L. Perez (Santiago); her grandchild Stephanie Pineda (Aleck), her grandchild Carlos Arizemendis (Kimberly), her grandchild Ashlynn Marchan (Hugo), her grandchild Johnathan Elliott, her grandchild Taylor Marchan, her grandchild Jay Guevara, her grandchild Joey Guevara, her grandchild Brayden Woods, her grandchild Brianna Puente, her great grandchild Noah Pineda, her great grandchild Nathaniel Arizmendis and her great grandchild Mason Arizmendis. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews that she adored very much.
Maria was preceded in death by her husband Jose Noe Puente Jr.†; her father Rosendo Leal† and her mother Severita Leal†; her brother Jesus "Chuy" Manuel Leal† and her sister Juana "Juanita" Garcia†.
A visitation for Maria will be held Wednesday, February 9, 2022 from 5:00pm-9:00pm in Chapel of Peace at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521, followed by a chapel service at 6:00pm in Chapel of Peace.
