Olga was employed by the "The Brownsville Herald" for 38 years as a proofreader and graphic artist. She enjoyed reading and doing word searches. She loved to get together with family and enjoyed having cookouts and going out to restaurants.
She was a baseball fan rooting for the Atlanta Braves and the Texas Rangers. She also loved the Dallas Cowboys.
She had a great sense of humor and made us all laugh. Her nieces and nephews were her pride and joy.
Olga is survived by her husband, Avelardo Cuevas Sr.; her sons Avelardo Cuevas Jr., Eric Cuevas and Esteban Cuevas; her sisters Elvia Garza, Yolanda G. Saenz and her brother Emiliano Garza Jr.; her nephew Oscar Eduardo Garza (Nadia), her niece Cecilia Manuela Garza (Chad), her niece Christina Alicia Martinez (Irvin), her niece Melissa Diane Saenz and her nephew Dr. Daniel Emiliano Garza.
Olga was preceded in death by her father Emiliano Garza Sr. † and her mother Cecilia C. Garza †.
A visitation for Olga will be held Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM in Chapel of Angels at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 McDavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A chapel service will be held Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 10:00 AM, in Chapel of Angels at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista, 125 McDavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521 followed by a burial at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 McDavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521.
Serving as pallbearers are Oscar Eduardo Garza, Eduardo Alejandro Garza, Dr. Daniel Emiliano Garza, Irvin Martinez, Chad Garza and Francisco Javier Cisneros.
