His hobbies included gardening, fishing, watching western shows, spending time outdoors, and watching the Dallas Cowboys.
Pablo is survived by his wife, Ubalda Cantu; his son Jose Cantu; his daughter Ivette Cantu; his son Juan Pablo Cantu; his daughter Jessica Cantu; his son Pablo Cantu III; his daughter Cynthia Gamboa; his daughter Debbie Azua; and his step-son Sergio Hugo Flores; his sister Palmira Hernandez, his brother Rolando Cantu, his sister Romana Morales, his sister Lucy Ramirez, his sister Celia Medina, his sister Mary Anderson and his sister Rosie Cantu.
Pablo was preceded in death by his father Pablo Cantu † and his mother Lucia Duran Cantu †; his brother Rodolfo Cantu; his brother Jose Reynaldo Cantu † and his sister Alicia Garcia †.
Also left to cherish his memory are 23 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A visitation for Pablo will be held Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 2:00PM to 9:00PM with a Rosary at 7:00PM in Chapel of Angels at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A mass will occur Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 2:00PM at Our Lady of Good Counsel, 1055 Military Road, Brownsville, TX. A burial will occur Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 3:00PM at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville, TX.
Serving as pallbearers are Jose Luis Cantu, Sergio Hugo Flores, Juan Pablo Cantu, Armando Ortiz, Marcos Cedillo, Roberto Cantu III and Pablo Cantu III.
