

Rita was an LVN for 28yrs. at Valley Grande Manor Nursing Home. She was strong willed with a big heart and a soft spot for her husband. She was a caring person for neighbors and friends in need. Rita was a Catholic Daughter at Saint Marys where she was a parishioner for over 43yrs and was part of the treasurer of the Catholic Daughters as well as a member of Altar & Rosary Society. She loved to travel had a passion for gardening, decorating, fishing with her family at the pier and making flower arrangements. Rita also enjoyed bird watching and loved to work on crossword puzzles with her husband.
Rita is preceded in death by her mother, Maria Amelia Gomez, grandmother Maria Rita Arratia, uncle Raul Gaona, aunt Maria Juanita Flores, and half sister,Amparo Lopez .
She is survived by her husband of 43yrs Felipe H. Lopez Jr.; her children, Denise Lopez and Felipe Lopez III; her father, Manuel Gomez; grandchildren, Krystal Martinez, Silver Martinez, Christian Lopez and Ailyn Kate Lopez; siblings, Manuel (Rosie) Gomez Jr., Gaspar (Mary Catherine) Gomez and Melchor (Alma) Gomez and half sister, Cruz Rynazewski ; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 12noon to 9 pm with a Rosary at 7pm, Friday, July 20, 2012 at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista.
Mass of Resurrection will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Saint Marys, 1914 Barnard Road. All services will conclude after Mass.
Serving as pallbearers will be Felipe Lopez III, Denise Lopez, Krystal Martinez, Silver Martinez, Veronica Gomez and Daniel Maldonado. Honorary pallbearer, Christian Lopez.
