Rogelio Mendoza Jr., age 47, passed away July 18,2020. He was born on March 9, 1973 in Chicago, Illinois to Rogelio Villanueva and Elida Garza Mendoza. Roger, the middle child of three, grew up in Brownsville, TX along with sisters MaryAnn and Elvira.
Rogelio Mendoza Jr. was loving son, brother, father and uncle. He worked as welder for Space X, where he earned the respect of his peers and supervisors who knew him as a knowledgeable and hard-working employee. Roger always displayed great mechanical aptitude and was gifted with his hands. This quality was of great benefit to friends and family, as Roger was always so generous and selfless with his time and skill.
Roger did not live his life, he celebrated it; always happy, always smiling, always laughing, never bitter. It seemed no dilemma could dampen his spirits nor could any impediment break his stride. His positive energy was boundless and unyielding. Roger Mendoza judged no one and drew everyone who knew him into his circle of friendship, his warm smile and infectious laugh being impossible to resist. Above all, Roger will be remembered for his fierce and unflinching loyalty to family, those who were dearest to him. We are blessed to have been a part of Roger’s life. His light shone brightly and burned out too soon, leaving our world a little less warm. Roger, until we meet again, you will be missed. We love you so much. Rest In Peace.
