Socorro Trevino

At the age of 86, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and faithful woman of God peacefully departed this life in Brownsville, Texas, surrounded by the love and presence of her family.

Born in Rancho El Gomeño, she came from humble beginnings and carried with her throughout her life a deep appreciation for faith and family. In 1959, at the age of 19, she married the love of her life, Noe Esteban Trevino. Together, they built a life and a family founded on love, devotion, sacrifice, and faith.

Throughout her 86 years, her Christian faith remained at the center of her life. She loved the Lord deeply and found strength and comfort through prayer. She was always willing to offer advice, words of encouragement, or a heartfelt prayer to anyone who needed it. Whether someone was facing hardship, uncertainty, or simply needed someone to listen, she was there to remind them to place their trust in God. Her wisdom, prayers, and unwavering faith touched the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.

Above all else, she was a devoted mother. She did everything within her power to make sure her children felt loved, cared for, and complete. Her children were among her greatest blessings, and the love she gave them became the foundation upon which generations of her family were built.

She was also a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother. Her grandchildren brought her tremendous joy, and becoming a great-grandmother was another beautiful blessing in her life. Her three precious great-granddaughters, Aulani Ruiz, Alina Ruiz, and Alia Ruiz, held an especially tender place in her heart. She loved those three little girls with her whole heart, and the happiness and love they brought into her life were immeasurable.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Noe Esteban Trevino; her mother, Olivia Hinojosa Alaniz; her father, Conrado Alaniz; her brother, Silveste Alaniz; her sister, Olga Alaniz Rubio; Her Sons Jesus Noe Trevino and Juan Manuel Trevino; her daughters, Enriqueta Trevino Ruiz and Guadalupe Trevino; and her grandson, Jesus Ruiz.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her siblings, Everardo Alaniz, Josefina Alaniz Molina, and Jesus Hinojosa Alanís; her children, Maria Juanita Trevino, Noe Martín Trevino (Diana Hernández), Socorro Trevino, and Eva Trevino Aldape (Pablo Aldape); her grandchildren, Samuel Ruiz Jr. (Bianca I. Ruiz), Sarah Jane Ruiz, Juan Manuel Trevino Jr., Joe Anthony Trevino, Victoria Ashley Trevino, and Valeria Nicole Trevino; and her beloved great-granddaughters, Aulani Ruiz, Alina Ruiz, and Alia Ruiz.

Her family will forever remember the sound of her advice, the comfort of her prayers, the strength of her faith, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. Her presence made her family feel whole, and the values she instilled in them will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Her life and faith are beautifully reflected in the words of Psalm 91:

“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.”

May she rest peacefully in the loving arms of the Lord, reunited with those she loved who went before her. She will forever be loved, forever be missed, and forever remain in the hearts of her family.

Pallbearers

It is with love and honor that Noe Martin Trevino, Pablo Aldape Jr., Samuel Ruiz Jr., Ray Alonso Tapia, Jesus Hinojosa Alanis, and Jesus Alanis will serve as pallbearers, carrying her to her final resting place.

Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, TX 78521, US, on August 21, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

A Prayer Service will take place at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, TX 78521, US, on August 21, 2026, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Burial will be held at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville, TX 785269618, US, on August 22, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.
