Teodocio was born in Parada de los Martinez, Villa de Zaragoza, San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Ambrosio R. Robledo & Consuelo Flores Robledo on May 29, 1956. He spent his youth in San Luis Potosi until the age 26 when he moved to Brownsville, Texas with his family.
He was known as a dedicated and extremely hard-working man who worked 20 years at Blackbeard’s Restaurant and an additional 17 years at Jim Wilkinson Iron & Metal from which he retired in 2020.
In the summer of 1994, Tacho met the love of his life Alicia Avila. Thus began a 30-year blessed union full of love, blended family gatherings and joyous memories with their children and grandchildren. Tacho had a tremendous love for his wife and often referred to her as “mi madama,” “mija” or “mi amor.”
Tacho was an amazing Son, caring Brother, devoted Husband, loving Father/Stepfather, adoring Grandfather, kind Uncle, awesome Cousin, and loyal Friend. He adored his father and recently traveled to Mexico to take care of him until he was well; he would speak to him often and gave him a place to stay when he visited from Mexico. Tacho loved being outdoors and enjoyed gardening, taking care of his dogs and cats, and at one time fostered a rooster. Tacho is known for his amazing cooking and BBQing abilities. His delicious menudo was widely known and requested often. He very much enjoyed cooking for his family, friends, and neighbors.
Through his compassion and wisdom, he taught us many valuable lessons. He often said that life was too short not to share everything with everyone “porque cuando te mueres, no te llevas nada.” Also, he said, “Hagan el bien y no miren a quien” and “Siempre hay que darle sonrisa a la vida.” Some of his well-known catchphrases were “A su mecha” and “todo con su calma.”
Most will remember Tacho for his loving soul and humble nature. Tacho was often the center of attention at gatherings because he loved to sing, dance, and make people laugh. There was a special place in his heart for everyone in his life and he never hesitated to show his endless support for his family and friends. He lived life to the fullest and lived every moment to the fullest. Tacho was an angel on earth, and we believe that his heart was so full of love and happiness that this world could no longer contain it. It may be the reason God called him to heaven so soon. All his family and friends know that he is resting in eternal peace. We will be patiently awaiting the day that all our souls reach the kingdom of heaven. Rest in eternal peace sweet Tachito, may your spirit find solace in the almighty’s embrace. We love you so much, “nos haces mucha falta” and we miss you and your loving smile.
