Tomasita Perales Larrasquitu of Brownsville, Texas, 87 entered eternal rest on Friday, July 18, 2025 at Valley Baptist Hospital. Tomasita was born on September 22, 1937 to Marcelo and Guadalupe Perales.
Tomasita was a devoted servant to our Lord and dedicated to reciting her daily prayers and rosary. She prayed for her family and everyone she knew in need of God’s blessing as well as herself asking for strength to continue to be a faithful servant and share the faith she strongly possessed.
Tomasita was a devoted wife, mother, abuelita, tia, comadre, madrina or friend to many. If you visited her home, you were welcomed with loving open arms and a warm smile. She expressed her love and gratitude through food by always offering you a home cooked meal or a cup of coffee that was accompanied by freshly made “panecitos” or “empanadas”. You were never denied a warm embrace or a meaningful witty conversation that we will cherish in our memories shared with her. Tomasita lived a full life devoted to her family, Armando†, Jaime, Minerva and her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She loved to spoil her grandchildren and provided a special relationship filled with unconditional love, wisdom and shared experiences of family history and traditions. She will be profoundly missed and fondly remembered by her family and all those who knew and loved her. An emptiness is left in our hearts, but we believe that memories will fill the void with time.
Tomasita is preceded in death by her beloved husband Armando Larrasquitu, her parents Marcelo and Guadalupe Perales and her brothers and sisters, Angelita P. Garza, Beatriz P. Treviño, Eugenio Perales, Merardo Perales, Jesus Perales and Daniel Perales.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jaime (Rosalva) Larrasquitu, Minerva L. Froozan (John†), her grandchildren, Jennifer S. Larrasquitu-Gonzalez (Steven), John K. Froozan, Veronica K. Froozan and Thomas A. Froozan.
Pallbearers: Jaime S. Larrasquitu, John K. Froozan, Thomas A . Froozan, Ramiro Larrasquitu, Jr., Norberto Perales, Steven Larrasquitu- Gonzalez and Hugo Perez.
Public visitation in her honor will take place at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens at 4464 Old Port Isabel Rd. Brownsville, Tx. on Friday, July 25, 2025 from 2:00 – 9:00 pm with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm.
