Valentin Arriaga

He graduated from Brownsville High School in 1963 after which he served in the United States Air Force. Valentin retired from P.U.B in 1999 after which he became an auto mechanic instructor at TSC. He devoted his time later to caring for his beloved wife, Adela until her death in 2011. Valentin later enjoyed trips to Coushatta and Winstar casinos. After he met his fiancée Sylvia Cancino, they enjoyed dancing at Galaxy and always looked forward to Charro Days! Valentin was a very well-loved man by so many. He loved God, his sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They, as well as Sylvia were his greatest blessings. He will be deeply missed. May he rest in peace. He is preceded in death by his parents Pedro Arriaga and Juanita D. Arriaga-Cerda, wife Adela Arriaga; siblings Joe Arriaga, Gilbert Cerda, and Guadalupe Arriaga Ortiz.

He is survived by his fiancée Sylvia Cancino; sons Antonio (Tony) Arriaga (Janie), Edwardo (Ed) Arriaga (Cynthia), and Eric Valentin Arriaga (Leticia); sisters Dora Garcia, Dolores Schrock, Esther Castaneda (Joe), and Esperanza Garza (Manuel); grandchildren Kevin Arriaga (Lexa), Kimberly Arriaga (Jesus Flores), Edward Arriaga, Adrian Arriaga, Michael Arriaga, Joaquin Arriaga, Pia Arriaga, and Teo Arriaga; great grandchildren Felipe Flores and Nahessi Flores.

He is also survived by his In-Laws and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Ed Arriaga, Tony Arriaga, Eric Arriaga, Kevin Arriaga, Edward Arriaga, Adrian Arriaga and Michael Arriaga. Honorary Pallbearers will be Manuel Garza, Joe Castaneda, and Henry Martinez. Visitation will be Friday, October 22, 2021 from 2pm - 9pm with a rosary at 7pm in Chapel of Peace. Mass will be Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 10am at St. Luke Catholic Church, 2800 Rockwell Dr., Brownsville, Tx., 78521.
