Victor Leos, age 71, passed peacefully from this earthly world on September 30, 2021. He was born in Laureles, TX to Victor Leos Sr & Magdelena Garcia. He had a hard childhood which gave him many adult responsibilities at an early age. He quickly learned the value of hard work to help support his mother and siblings to put food on the table. This was the foundation for the man he became. He eventually attended college and graduated from UT Brownsville with a B.A. in Psychology.
Victor was a strong, kind, loving, and supportive father. He was the foundation of his family. He raised his 3 children, his most prized possessions and his proudest accomplishments. He gave them the greatest gift a parent can give a child . . .a safe, nurturing home full of love. Thank you, father, for each and every day that you extended your best self for all of us. You taught us to be kind and love others everyday with all our heart.
When Victor was not with his children or family, he was working for Southwestern Bell as a telephone line technician, where he worked for over 30 years. There he met some of his lifelong friends who he cherished immensely. After retirement, Victor spent his time enjoying all of his life’s greatest pleasures. He loved listening to music and playing his guitar. Some of his favorite musicians were Eric Clapton, B.B. King, The Doors, The Rolling Stones and of course The Beatles. He loved animals, so he built a farm on his land where he cared for all of them daily. Victor was passionate about the arts and loved art, sculptures, and international cultures. He had quite a collection of art he designed and made and also art he collected from across the world. He also loved learning and always had a book for everything.
Victor was also a devout Catholic who loved God and the church. He would often attend mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel on Sundays with his family and would make special trips to the Basilica in San Juan for special needs.
He was preceded in death by his father, Victor Leos Sr., mother Magdalena Garcia, and his aunt Julie Martinez with whom we are certain he shared the most glorious reunion in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Anyone who knew Victor knew he was a remarkably selfless man with a heart larger than the size of Texas. He was well known by all his friends and family for his incredible, thoughtful gifts. His humble character and loving personality will be forever missed.
Victor’s family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he proudly and often mentioned. He was a dedicated father, grandfather, uncle, and husband.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Maggie, his daughter Ruby, and sons Victor Leos (Maribel), Vincent Leos (Christina), and Valmichael Leos (Kristina). His sisters Christina Perez, Olivia Tamez His brothers: Fredrico Carrizales, David Carrizales, and Andres Carrizales. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Victor, Matthew, Alicia, Arwen, Vincent, Ellie, and Joseph Leos as well as many nieces, nephews, and an abundance of friends.
