Virgilio Ramirez

Virgilio was born in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, and spent most of his life between his beloved hometown of Matamoros and Brownsville, Texas. Throughout his life, he remained deeply connected to his family, his roots, and the places he called home.

Virgilio was a hardworking man who dedicated much of his life to construction and electrical work. His career often required him to travel, something that became a familiar part of his life over the years. Most recently, he worked with Torres Electric and Pete’s Electric, where he was grateful for the friendships and support he received from his co-workers.

Outside of work, Virgilio found happiness in the simple things he enjoyed most. He loved fishing, spending time at the beach, cooking and eating seafood, and visiting his family in Matamoros. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, especially to those he loved, and treasured every opportunity to spend time with his family.

The Ramirez family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported and helped Virgilio throughout his life, especially during his most recent struggles leading up to his passing. A special thank you is extended to his cousin, Luis Torres; his co-workers at Pete’s Electric, who showed him kindness and support despite his short time with them; and his close family members, Piedad, Agustin, Doroteo, Chuy, and Maria, for their love, care, and presence during his time of need.

Virgilio is survived by his children, Virgilio Ramirez Jr., Stephanie Adaya (Saul Adaya), Jessica Ramirez (Ismael Ayala), Becky Ramirez (Obed García), and Samantha Ramirez; his grandchildren, Nelson D. Adaya, Saul J. Adaya, Amaya Adaya, Esmeralda M. Ramirez-Moguel, Kenya M. Ayala, Baby Ayala, Jasmine A. Ramirez, Jayden H. Garcia, Jael A. Garcia, and Jiann A. Ramirez; his loving mother, Maria Guadalupe Ramirez; and his sister, Alma Rodriguez (Raul Rodriguez).

He is also survived by his close cousin, Luis Torres, along with Diana Torres and their children, as well as his many extended family members throughout Brownsville, Texas, and Matamoros, Tamaulipas. Although there are too many loved ones to name individually, the family wishes for each of them to know that they are lovingly remembered and included among those who mourn Virgilio’s passing and honor his memory.

Virgilio was preceded in death by his maternal aunts, whom he now joins in eternal rest.

Virgilio will be remembered for his hard working spirit, his love for his family, and the many memories he created throughout his life. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A special blessing in honor of Vigilio Ramirez will take place on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at St. Eugene de Mazenod Catholic Church at 10:00 am.
