Walter Cain Jr., born on June 4th, 1958, in Brownsville, Texas, left this world to be with our Lord on December 11th, 2023. He was the beloved son of Walter Cain Sr. and Lidia Jimenez and grew up surrounded by the love of multiple brothers and sisters, along with countless nieces and nephews.
Walter found lifelong companionship with his wife, Dora Lilia Cain, and together they shared 45 years of unwavering love and commitment. Their union blessed them with two children, Walter Cain III (who has preceded him) and Kimberly Cain. Walter's legacy lives on through his three handsome grandsons: Jeremiah Cain Woodard, Matthew Woodard Jr., and Jacob Isaiah Woodard.
In 1990, Walter answered a higher calling and embarked on a spiritual journey by dedicating himself to ministry in Killeen, Texas. His passion for serving the Lord led him to the mission field, where he formed a profound partnership with Bro. Paul House. Together, they ventured to the Tarahumara Indian Tribe in Chihuahua, Mexico, marking the beginning of Walter's impactful work in spreading the teachings of Christ.
Walter embraced the call of our Lord Jesus Christ and in 1994, he moved his family to Little Rock, Arkansas, where he founded Cristo Vision Ministry. His dedication to spreading the message of love, compassion, and faith touched the lives of many. Walter's ministry was not just a vocation; it was a calling that resonated in his every action, inspiring those around him to embrace the grace of God. His devotion to spreading the Gospel knew no bounds, and he extended his reach to various parts of Mexico, including Cedral and the surrounding areas of San Luis Potosí.
The Lord's guidance took Walter even further, connecting him with a Pastor from Africa through online channels. This divine encounter led him to embark on annual mission trips for the past four years. His travels took him to remote regions of Kenya, Kitale, Turkana, and beyond, where he dedicated himself to reaching souls for Christ and addressing the needs of the elderly and young children in orphanages and rural desert areas.
Walter's compassionate heart, ignited by the Lord's calling, led him to a profound mission — the dream of water wells in the deserts of Africa. With divine assistance, his dream will live on and with the help of many friends, his dream will one day become a reality. Walter also imparted valuable knowledge, teaching communities to plant and harvest enough corn for sustenance throughout the year.
His ministry extended beyond geographical boundaries, encompassing the marginalized, homeless, and those incarcerated. Walter's commitment to the spiritual well-being of others was unwavering, and he continued to minister to prison inmates and the homeless until the Lord called him home.
The impact of Walter's selfless service is immeasurable, and the void left by his passing will be deeply felt by the many lives he touched. We may never fully comprehend the extent of his influence, but we can cherish the memories of a man who dedicated his life to sharing the love of Christ with the world. As we bid farewell to a devoted servant of God, let us celebrate the legacy of Walter Cain Jr., a beacon of light who will be missed by many.
Walter Cain Jr. leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and spiritual devotion. As we mourn his passing, let us also celebrate the enduring impact he made on the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and the countless lives he touched through his ministry. May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the heavenly light he so faithfully shared with others during his time on Earth and may he find eternal rest in the embrace of our Lord.
