

Amador Martinez Munoz, 83, of Bryan, passed away Sunday morning at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. Visitation will be Tuesday December 14, 2010 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday December 15, 2010 at Santa Teresa Catholic Church in Bryan with Reverend Monsignor John Malinowski officiating. Interment will follow at Bryan City Cemetery.
Amador was born April 30, 1927 in San Antonio, Texas to Martin and Augustina Martinez Munoz. He moved with his family to Snook, Texas in 1939 and has lived most of his life in Bryan. He served in the United State Marine Corp during World War II. He met and married Louise Guillen on May 2, 1955. He worked for many years as a mechanic for Halsell Motor Company in Bryan before his retirement in 1970.
He loved to play baseball and played second base for the Azetecas Baseball Team . He was a member of Santa Teresa Catholic Church in Bryan, and the VFW Brazos County Post 4692. Amador also loved playing pool, dancing, and being around family and friends. Even though he was retired, he continued to work on automobiles, his lifelong passion.
Amador was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 56 years Louise Munoz on April 15, 2010; his son, Joe Martin Munoz; sister, Manuella Cortez; and a brother, Pete Munoz.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy and Johnny Yeppez of Bryan and Bernadette and Stephen Bruck of Wellborn, Texas; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Acension “Chon” Munoz and Martin and Carmen Munoz all of Bryan; one sister, Mary Martinez of Bryan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
