Angie M. Scarmardo, 84, passed away June 16, 2018 at her home in Bryan. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday, June 18th at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan, with the Deacon Andy Perrone to recite the Rosary at 7:00. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 19th at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Varickmackal and Deacon Bill Scarmardo as celebrants. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Bryan.
Angie was born March 21, 1934 in Houston, Texas, the daughter of Dominick and Mary (Cash) Mauro. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School and attended the American Institute of Banking. Angie had worked in accounting, banking, and insurance before retiring from the Carlson Travel Agency in 1996.
Angie was a lifelong member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and a faithful member of the Altar Society. She loved to cook and bake and could be found in the kitchen most of the time. She was an avid Texas A&M fan and rarely missed a football game.
Angie was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Frank P. Mauro and Barney E. Mauro.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 68 years, Marion “Red” Scarmardo; three children, James Michael Scarmardo and his wife Suzette, Diane LeFlore and her husband John, and Donald R. Scarmardo; eleven grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, four sisters-in-law, Pauline Restivo, Lou Mauro, Ruth Scarmardo, and Margaret Ann Mauro; numerous nieces and nephews.
If friends desire, the family suggests memorials be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church or Hospice Brazos Valley.
