Annie Villarreal

Annie was born in Bryan on March 8, 1947. The fifth of 11 siblings, Annie was always surrounded by family. She lived a simple life that didn’t require much to make her happy. A phone call from her sisters just to talk, a visit from her sons, daughter, or grand kids would help to make her day. The people in her life were more important to her than any material things.

Annie was a friend to all she met. From her jobs at Johnson Elementary to taking care of babies at St. Joseph Nursery, she left a lasting impression. She was known for her sense of humor and animated story telling. She could command the attention of an entire room with her personality.

In her final years, Annie proved to all what they already knew, she was one tough woman. She fought though pain without complaint, kept her sense of humor, and leaned on her faith until her final days. Her memory will live long through her family and friends in the stories they share and the memories they hold dear.

Annie was preceded in death by her parents; Louis Ramirez and Geneva Mendez and her spouse Roberto Villarreal.

Annie is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Carlos and Sally Medina, Fred Anthony and Angie Medina, Robbie and Renee Medina; daughter and son-in-law, Irma and Lupe Pineda; brothers Johnny Ramirez and spouse Julia, Louis Ramirez and spouse Allas, Lupe Ramirez and spouse Mary, and Eddie Ramirez; sisters Oliva Trejo, Gloria Quintero, Janie Manriquez, Josie Ramirez, Angie Cruz and spouse Leo, and Mary Aquino and spouse Isaias; grandchildren, Carlos Renee Medina, Randy Pineda and wife Jacquelyn, Gabriel Noah Medina, Michael David Medina and wife Lauren, Bobby Medina and wife Marysol, Alyssa Aryn Ramirez and husband Marcos, Alex Medina, Mary Medina, Brandie Medina , Ryan Pineda and Abby Medina; great-grandchildren, Austin Medina, Stella Pineda, Margaret Pineda, Ruthie Medina and Zoey Bormann; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8pm with a 6:30pm Rosary service at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Friday, February 12 at Santa Teresa Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
