Tony as he was known to his family and friends, was born in Irapuato, Guanajuato., Mexico on November 8, 1982. He would move to Bryan, TX at the age of 2 years old with his parents, Antonio Mata Mosqueda and Altair J Mosqueda to embark on a new life. He attended Bryan schools and went to receive to his GED certificate in 1999.
Growing up he played with numerous cousins. He was known as “the hulk” other times as “superman” as he ran around the house with a towel tied to his neck (and only wearing underwear). Then there were the times he was just the “tu no me mandas or you don’t boss me” - game over everyone go home.
Tony was born into a family of musicians so without a doubt Tony began exploring his music talents. His passion became the saxophone that he learned to play while attending 6th grade. At that time “Tradicional Mosqueda” a type of Mariachi group had been formed. As no surprise, he joined the mariachi. Tony had the joy of performing alongside his father, Antonio M Mosqueda, uncles, aunts, cousins, and grandfather Antonio Mosqueda Sr. He played his saxophone with the mariachi until he decided to move to Austin, TX. Although he enjoyed traveling and performing, his focus was the loves of his life, his children, Anthony, Alexis, Nathan and Maci. He left the mariachi moved to Austin and focused on his kids.
If you knew Tony, you knew he was a BIG KID at heart! He was a jokester! He truly enjoyed hosting his kid’s birthday parties probably more so than the kids with water balloon fights and waterslides. He dedicated his time to taking Nathan to his bowling practices, Anthony to his football practices and games and Alexi to her theatre performances. The love and dedication for his kids is what he lived for.
Tony worked for SuddenLink Cable for many years. When he moved to Austin Tony worked for Spectrum Communications for several years and then went to work for ABC Pest Control in Austin.
The Lord called Tony home on September 20, 2021 to be reunited with his father Antonio M Mosqueda.
