Betty Young

Betty R. Young entered into Heaven on August 12, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Manor with her family by her side. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 15, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.

Betty was born January 4th, 1927 in Bells, Texas. Betty moved her family to Bryan College Station in November of 1967. She managed the Ramada Inn in College Station for twenty years. She also worked closely with the Former Students Association, Fireman Training School and many other TAMU departments. Mrs. Young also managed the University Tower during her long career. Betty will be remembered for her many contributions to the growth of the hotel, restaurant and hospitality industry in Bryan and College Station.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 4 siblings.

Survivors include her sons and their wives, Larry & Jonne Young, Barry & Janet Young, Rick & Marla Young and their families. Including 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Betty was the matriarch of our family, she now resides in heaven and will be maintaining the grounds and in charge of varmint eradication. #1 will be missed.
