

Billie Seth Pope, 79, passed away August 12, 2023 in Bryan, Texas. He was surrounded by loved ones as he made his way home to Heaven. Billie was born on October 5, 1943 in Madison County to Ruben and Kathryn Pope. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1961. In 1962, he joined the United States Air Force and served four years. He was stationed in North Africa and California.
Upon his return to Bryan, he began his career as a master plumber. He was a businessman who owned and operated Pope Plumbing Company. He was respected for his attention to detail, honesty, and work ethic. He met and married Mary Ann Dileo on May 19, 1973. It was his goal to live to celebrate their 50th anniversary which they did this year.
His greatest achievements in life were his children and grandchildren. He proudly shared their accomplishments with others. He loved horses, fishing, playing dominoes, watching Gunsmoke, and eating his daily dose of Blue Bell Dutch Chocolate ice cream. He loved to talk and crack jokes. He and his daughter competed at the game Wordle every day.
Billie is preceded in death by his parents, Ruben and Kathryn Pope; brothers, Olen Pope, Raymond Pope, and Wallace Pope. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; daughters, Robin Haas and husband Jeff; Toni Beamon and husband Buddy; brother and sister-in-law, Harlan and Peggy Pope; and four grandchildren, Carissa Beamon, Collin Beamon, Kaylea Haas, and Zach Haas, and several nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to his beloved brother and sister-in-law, Harlan and Peggy Pope for their unwavering love and support during his medical journey. Thank you to Traditions Hospice for their support. The family would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Marcella Leija and Amy Gandy for the care and compassion they’ve shown to Mr. Billie the last five years.
Visitation will be from 5 pm until 7 pm, Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at the Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Funeral service will be at 11 am, Thursday, August 17, 2023 at the funeral home Chapel. Committal with military honors will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
