Carol Ann Ward

Carol was born on March 15, 1945, and lived a life marked by determination, resilience, and independence. She was known for her stubborn streak, strong will, and unmistakable strength. While she was not one to wear her heart on her sleeve, those fortunate enough to know her well understood the caring and loving person beneath her tough exterior.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Tootsie Sisco, and Dorothy and Sidney Worbington; her brothers, Stewart Sisco and Vernon Guest; and her son-in-law, Daryl Liles.

Carol is survived by her children, Vanessa Stepp and husband Mitchell, Craig Ward and wife Kristina, and Stacy Liles. She is also survived by her brothers, Russell Sisco and wife Kelly, and Gordon Sisco; and her sisters, Brenda Watson and Debbie Smith and husband Jimmy.

She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Keaton Stepp and wife Carrie, Craigory Ward and wife Adri, Kelsey Green and husband Ryan, Braeden Ward, and Kayleigh and Trey Wehmeyer. She was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren who brought her much happiness.

Carol retired from Verizon after 45 years of dedicated service. Her commitment and work ethic were evident throughout her long career. She was also passionate about bowling and spent many years competing in leagues and tournaments, creating lasting friendships and memories along the way.

Always interested in health and wellness, Carol was constantly looking for new ways to stay healthy and active. She approached life on her own terms and remained true to herself throughout her years.

Carol’s strength, determination, quick wit, and unique personality will be remembered by all who knew her. Though she may not have expressed affection openly, her love was felt in countless ways by those closest to her.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to Brazos Valley Hospice for the compassionate care and support they provided during Carol’s final days.
