Carolyn Joy Payne

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 19 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Private interment will take place at Forest Park Lawndale in Houston.

Carolyn was born in Houston, Texas to David and Jessie Hughes. She was a beautiful, sweet and patient mother, and a kind and gracious friend. As an adult she used her musical talents to sing and minister to the residents of the local nursing homes. She was a true prayer warrior and her greatest joy was telling everyone she met about Jesus.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory sister, Joan Wilshusen and husband George of Houston; three sons and daughters -in-law, Mike and Kathy Payne of Baytown, Steve and Sherri Payne, and Jonathan and Michelle Payne all of Bryan; grandchildren, Matt Payne, Shaun Payne and wife Molly, Morgan Payne and Jason Payne; and two great-grandsons, Quinn and Oliver.
