
She is now reunited with her loving husband of 57 years, William R.J. Van Brunt, her beloved son, Peter Lawrence Van Brunt, mother, Catherine Watts Robertson and great-grandson, Nash Dylan Van Brunt.
"Kitty" was born on June 5, 1919, in Paisley, Scotland and grew up in Weeden, England. She moved to the United States as a young girl where she met and married her husband Bill in 1939 in New York.
Kitty and Bill traveled the world while Bill was in the U.S. Air Force and packed up their six children and moved nineteen times during his career. After Bill retired as a Lt. Colonel, Kitty and Bill spent most of their retirement in Palos Verdes, California; Bryan, Texas and Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
After her husband's death, Kitty moved back to Texas and was cared for by her son David Van Brunt and his wife Marcy in Austin, Texas until her death.
She leaves to cherish her memory five children, 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; son, William "Bill" Van Brunt and his wife, Gail, of Wayzata, Minn., and their children, Cullen, Teran, Emily, Tyler and Peter; son, Robert "Bob" Van Brunt and his wife Cathy, of Bryan, Texas, and their children, Rob and Chad; son, Roger Van Brunt and his wife, Jeannine, of Santa Cruz, Calif., and their daughter, Erin; son, David Van Brunt and his wife, Marcy, of Austin, Texas, and their children, Dylan, Dustin and Will; and daughter, Catherine "Cass" Schwartz and her husband, Michael, of Houston, Texas, and their children, Mitchell and Lauren.
The Family would like to thank Drs. John Kurt Frederick and Gerald V. Levy for their care and managing Kitty's heart disease for the last fourteen years.
Visitation will be Friday, February 17, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1515 South College Avenue in Bryan, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2012, at First Presbyterian Church, 1100 Carter Creek Parkway in Bryan, Texas, with interment to follow at Bryan Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Hospice Austin, or a charity of your choice .
