Christopher Ray (Chris) Lero died in his sleep on Friday, January 26, 2018 at the age of 82. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12:00 PM, Friday, February 2, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan, with Rev. Msgr. John A. McCaffrey as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
He was born on August 3, 1935 in Bryan, Texas and resided there all his life. He attended St. Joseph Catholic School through the 8th grade and graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School and McKenzie-Baldwin Business School. He enjoyed working in retail for many years until his retirement. Chris lived his life fully and loved all the people in his life. He knew his family history well - remembered their names and birthdays and would always call relatives just to chat. He will be greatly missed by many.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Dianne Lero, who were a tremendous support in Chris' life in his last months and also by his sister, Natalie Lero Moise of Houston. Survivors also include his nieces and nephews - Amy and Kevin Pickard, Jay and Fiona Lero, Neville Moise, Jr., David C. Moise and their children, Garrett and Grant Pickard, Taylor and Myles Moise and Logan Gloster.
Preceded in death are his parents, Antone Jacob Lero and Eva Syzdek Lero - also his niece, Kathy Moise-Gloster and brother-in-law, Neville Moise, Sr.
The family is deeply grateful to all of Chris' friends and neighbors who provided friendship and help when it was needed. If anyone desires, memorial gifts may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bryan.
