Daniel A. Martinez

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 20 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 – 9 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan with a rosary service at 6:00 p.m.

Daniel was born September 16, 1960 in Rotan, Texas the son of Santos and Lucia (Alvarado) Martinez. He married Connie Herrera on April 1, 1978 in Snyder, Texas. Daniel worked in the oil field and was a truck driver most of his life. He loved classic rock music, riding his Harley and spending time with his grandson Stefan. Daniel was a member of the Brazos de Dios H.O.G. and St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Daniel is preceded in death by his father, Santos Martinez; mother, Lucia Lopez; step-father, Jose Lopez; brother, Mario Martinez; and brothers-in-law, Johnny Suarez and Andres Rodriguez.

He leaves behind his wife, Connie H. Martinez; sons, Jose Daniel Martinez and Ricardo Alvarado Martinez; daughter and son-in-law, Victoria Petra and Buddy Newkirk; grandson, Stefan Cresencio Newkirk; soon to join granddaughter, Sophia Eudelia Newkirk; sisters, Margaret Rodriguez, Delores Calhoun, Dolly Suarez, and Ida Lou Medina; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
