IN THE CARE OF
Memorial Funeral Chapel
Mrs. Doris Herzog entered into Heaven on January 20, 2022. Born in 1926, in her beloved Llano, Texas, she was 95 years old at the time of her passing.
Doris, known as “Mama D” to her family and close friends, was a long-time member of the Bryan community. She worked as the Head Accountant at Allen Oldsmobile-Cadillac for 35 years and, in 2019, was honored at an employee celebration. This recognition was a very special moment for her. Since 2018, Doris has lived at Legacy Nursing Center and was very loved and cared for by the wonderful staff there. In February 2020, she was a model in a city-wide Senior Valentine Fashion Show and the year before was crowned, Valentine Queen of Legacy Nursing Home! She wore both sashes with so much pride! She loved playing and winning the weekly Bingo games at Legacy and, of course getting her hair done at the beauty shop. Doris loved plants, animals of all kinds (especially owls!) and piano music.
She is survived by her Grandson, Kevin Authur, his wife Joni and her three great-grandchildren, Maddison, Adam and Alyssa. Doris was preceded in passing by her dear husband of 50 years, Eugene Herzog, her daughter, Patricia Royder, and her sister, Joyce Armstrong. We are sure that reunion will be quite a celebration!
In light of current events and difficulties gathering, the family has chosen to celebrate her life privately in Houston. As an avid animal lover, Doris always had a special concern for their welfare. In lieu of a memorial service, it would be a beautiful tribute to consider donating to https://www.bryantx.gov/animal-center/ in her honor. Doris has touched many lives. An online guestbook and photos are set up for anyone who would like to leave a memory or a special word at MemorialFuneralChapelBryan.com.
