Eddice E. Irby, 90, of Bryan, passed away February 8, 2011 at Lampstand Nursing Home. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, February 11 at Memorial Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 12 at Kurten Cemetery.
Eddice was born April 29, 1920 to Nathaniel and Myrtis Edwards in Meadville, Mississippi. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Bryan. She worked as assistant director for the Mississippi State Welfare Department as well as the State Tax Commissions’ Office. She was a loving mother and always had the gift of helping others.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Henry George Irby; and son Dr. Henry Irby.
Survivors include her daughter Gloria Marshall and husband Charles of Bryan; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.
