

Funeral service will be held at 3:30 pm Saturday, October 8 at College Heights Assembly of God with Rev. Tommy Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Bryan City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 pm Friday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
Evelyn was born October 28, 1940 in Wellborn the daughter of Lester and Dorothy (Vincent) Parsons. She was a devoted member of College Heights Assembly of God Church. Evelyn was very active at her church, served as secretary on the board, taught Sunday School for many years, the bible quiz, sang in the choir and was lead on special songs. She was a vital part of the Tuesday morning bible study, speaker for Wednesday night bible study, leader of the small group, women’s ministries, senior adult ministries and leader of prayer chain.
Evelyn was employed with Texas Agriculture Extension for 34 years. She was a great cook and provide special meals and desserts for her church family. Evelyn entered her kolache's at the Kolache Festival in Caldwell, and took the honor of placing 4th at one of the events. She even went to her granddaughters’ school to teach them how to make kolache’s (but not giving the family recipe away). Evelyn enjoyed taking part of the Citizens Police Academy in Bryan. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and mother-in-law and will be missed.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents; and a brother-in-law, Bill Moore.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ted Tumlinson; sons and daughters-in-law, Vic and Liz Tumlinson, Todd and Mary Lee Tumlinson; sister, Anna Moore; brothers and sister-in-law, J.W. Parsons, Dwayne and Gena Parsons; grandchildren, Jordon Sweatt and wife Paige, Trevor Tumlinson and wife Leigha, Remi Tumlinson; great-grandchildren, Charlee and Corbin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
