

Florence Mildred Franklin Williams of Bryan passed away on April 12 at her home at the age of 95. She was born on November 12, 1919 in Benchley, Texas to parents Clarence Boone Franklin and Erma Rae Seale. Florence attended Hearne schools and Texas State College for Women.
She was an avid bowler, bridge player and sports fan. Florence never saw an Aggie foul or penalty. She was "Grandma" to several generations of family and friends and always knew what to say and how to fix things.
Florence married Hugh Ryland Williams of Smithville, Texas on October 12, 1940. She was preceded in death by her husband Colonel Hugh Williams in 1966, her sister Olena Wallace and her daughter-in-law Kyle Williams.
She is survived by her daughter Gaye Williams Caldwell and husband Charley of Bryan, sons Robert Williams and wife Gwenn of Denver, Colorado, George Williams of Abilene and Clay Williams and wife Danielle Rosser of Houston. Grandchildren are Jodie Cole of Bryan, Lindsey Friedman of Denver, Hunter Williams of Austin, Reese Williams of Washington, DC, CeCe Caldwell Benningfield and Kelley Caldwell McKethan as well as numerous great grandchildren. A very special relationship with great granddaughter Kelsey will be treasured for many years.
The family wishes to recognize longtime caregiver of almost 20 years Caroline Contreras for her loving and compassionate care, as well as the Thompson family and others for their devotion. They would also like to share their appreciation to Encompass Hospice for making the last weeks of Florence's life a respectful passing and honoring her as a person. Although Florence's family will miss her greatly each and every day, they will always know how blessed they were and how enriched their lives were made by her presence.
Graveside services will be held at Bryan City Cemetery for family and friends on Sunday, April 19 at 2:00 P.M.
