Gertrude (Kurten) Sines, 97, of Bryan, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2012, at Millican House. Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. Sunday, August 12, until the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Interment will follow at Kurten Cemetery. Gertrude was born October 1, 1914, in Kurten, to Henry and Mittie Kurten. She was their last living child. For many years she was a member of Park Place Methodist Church in Houston until she moved to Bryan and became a member of Zion Church of Kurten. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray W. Sines, Jr.; 3 brothers; and 1 sister. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Amy Kurten
of Kurten; her nieces and nephews who lovingly knew her as “Aunt Baby”, Lynn and Glenda Kurten of Bryan, Jimmy and Diana Kurten of Kurten, Bobby and Judy Kurten of Kurten, Johnny and SuzAnne Kurten of Coupland, Danny and Sue Toland of
Kurten; numerous greatnieces and nephews as well as great-great nieces and nephews.
