

Gilbert Lynn Lavender, age 83, of Bryan, TX., passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of Saturday, morning, August 2nd, 2025, with his beloved Wife, Patricia Lavender, of 60 years, by his side.
Funeral service will be 11:00 am Tuesday, August 12 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Interment will be at Bryan City Cemetery.
Born on July 24th, 1942, Gilbert lived a full and meaningful life centered around family, faith, and integrity. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Lavender; and his three children, his daughter, Lisa Mercure of Bryan, Texas; and her two children, Hannah, and Brett Mercure. Jason Lavender of Bryan, TX; and his children, Eleanor and Lucy Lavender. Scott Lavender of Bryan, TX; and his four children, Autumn, Chloe, Jered, and Logan Lavender – All of whom were the light of his life.
In his younger years, Gilbert had a passion for speed and craftsmanship, spending countless hours building and racing cars and motorcycles. That same drive and dedication carried over into his professional life when he founded Lavco Air Conditioning and Heating in 1978. Through hard work and commitment to excellence, he grew the company into a respected business that earned numerous accolades and the admiration of the community it still serves today.
Beyond his career, Gilbert loved traveling the world with Patricia, creating cherished memories together along the way. He was known not only for his entrepreneurial spirit but also for his generosity and philanthropy, always willing to lend a hand and give back to those in need.
He is also survived by his siblings Brenda Smith and Raymond Lavender, along with his sisters-in-law, Ginger and her husband Tommy Lanehart, Debbie Burch, and Janie Burch, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his sister, Delores Knighton; his brother, Robert Lavender; and his parents, Lucille and Cecil Lavender.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Hospice Brazos Valley especially to Kathy and Sheila; his sister Brenda, brother Raymond and sister-in-law Ginger for all of their help in the last few weeks; to Dr. Erin Fleener and her staff; and Dr. Bob Bains and his staff. We appreciate all the love, care and support you gave to Gilbert.
