A celebration of Glenda’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A private family interment will be held at Bryan City Cemetery.
Glenda was born January 22, 1924 in Decatur, Texas and was the daughter of Glen and Ray (Matheson) Rieger. Glenda was a longtime member of The Woman’s Club and was very active in her Sunday school class at Central Baptist Church of Bryan. Her true ministry was in her home. She was a devout Christian and friend who greeted anyone who entered her home with warmth and kindness. She was always there for family and friends to offer a helping hand in times of need. One of her passions was attending weekend garage sales with her dear friends. Her sparkling personality was one of her greatest attributes. She had a gracious spirit that made everyone who came in contact with her feel better after being in her presence.
Glenda is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, George Rieger; and lastly her husband of 65 years, Reuben Bond.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Dianne Bond, Glen and Amy Bond; daughter and son-in-law, Merrill and Roy Kirkpatrick; grandchildren, Brent Bond, Wesley and Michelle Bond, Matthew and Shawna Bond, Ashley and Jason Bolfing, Amy and Jon Fisher; five great-grandchildren, Katelyn and Logan Bond, Jackson and Will Fisher, and Emma Bolfing; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Crestview Assisted Living and Compassionate Care Hospice for the care they gave to Glenda.
