Dr. Howard Wyatt Cargill was born in Chriesman, Texas on February 14, 1927, the son of the late George and Stella Cargill. He left to be with his Heavenly Father on November 12, 2012 surrounded by his loving family.

In 1953, he established the first private veterinary hospital in the Brazos Valley. Later, he practiced at Bryan Animal Clinic along with his brother, Bobby Joe Cargill. He was co-owner of El Cerrito Animal Clinic with his brother, Bobby and the practice is now owned by his son, Dr. Tommy Cargill. He was a member of Steep Hollow Baptist Church for more than sixty years where he served as a Deacon and was a Sunday School teacher for over fifty years.
