

Jack W. Cumpton, 79, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2016 at the Hospice Brazos Valley Inpatient Facility in Bryan. A celebration of Mr. Cumpton’s life is scheduled for 10:30 AM, Wednesday, March 9th at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Honorary pallbearers include Donald Parsons, Charles (Bo) Paradowski, Tommy Seargeant, Don Uptegraph and Jim Wyckoff.
Jack was born October 17, 1936 in Muskogee, OK, the son of Wilber C and Clita Prewitt Cumpton. Mr. Cumpton graduated from Texas A&M University, Class of ’59 with a Bachelor of Architecture Degree. He went on to become a distinguished and respected Architect for over 50 years. Jack designed numerous Bryan landmarks, including The Brazos Center, Bryan High School, Brazos County Courthouse, and numerous banks and schools throughout the area.
A man whose love for his wife and family was never ending and a drive to improve our lives everyday was unequaled.
Mr. Cumpton is survived by his adoring wife, Beverly Cumpton of Bryan; loving children, Brad Cumpton and wife Teri of Ocala, FL, Brett Cumpton and wife Stephanie of Bryan, and Kellye Baggerly of Bryan; grandchildren, Alex and her husband Andy Vitek of Houston, Jordan and her husband Jason Patek of Bryan, Rilee Cumpton, Brody Stone, Michael Stone, and Tyler Stone, all of Bryan; and one great grandchild, Leighton Patek.
The family requests that any memorial tributes for Jack be in the form of contributions to Hospice Brazos Valley.
The family would like to acknowledge and give a special thanks to the Generations Center for Senior Living and Hospice Brazos Valley for the remarkable care provided by the staff and nurses who showed Jack and our family amazing love and extraordinary care over the last several months.
