

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday May 21 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
Janie was born October 3, 1926 in Franklin the daughter of Frank Sr. and Adela (Martinez) Lara. She was a seamstress for Niemen Marcus in Dallas of 18 years. She returned to Bryan-College Station where she worked as a seamstress for The Men’s warehouse and Bealls. Janie attended services at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Janie is preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Julia Moncivais Lara, sister and brother-in-law, Ramona and Luther Bosquez of Lubbock; brother, Marcelo Lara; brother-in-law, Camilo Rivera; nephew, Peter Lara Jr.; and a niece, Linda Cordero.
She is survived by her brothers and sister, Pete Lara and wife Virginia, Teresa Lara Rivera, Phillip Lara and wife Elva, Frank Lara Jr. and wife Connie, and Richard Lara; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Home Health Hospice and Fortress Health and Rehab for the love and care they gave to Janie.
