Janie Mauro Watson, 89, of Bryan, went to be with the Lord on April 17, 2012 in Bryan. The St. Anthony Altar Society Rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home with Rev. Msgr. John Malinowski officiating. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 20, 2012 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, with Rev. Patrick Ebner as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Don Mauro, Robbie Caldwell, Ronnie Matejka, Nick Philipello, Gary Mauro, Frank Mauro, Mark Scarmardo, and Sonny Lyles.
Janie was born June 24, 1922 in Brazos County, the daughter of Frank and Angelina (Boss) Mauro. She retired from the Bryan International Rubber Plant around 1980 after 28 years of service. Janie was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, member of the Holy Rosary Society, St. Anthony Altar Society. She also served in the nursery, Religious Education and Mother’s Day Out Program for many years. Janie will be remembered for her love of children, love of cooking and that she always had a smile on her face.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Rose Mauro and numerous nieces and nephews.
