Jesse W. Weatherly (Buddy), 92, of Baytown, TX was called to his Heavenly home May 8, 2020. Buddy enlisted in the U.S. Navy Nov 23, 1943, and served as an Aviation Electrician's Mate during the WWII Victory. After leaving the Navy he graduated from Sam Houston High School.
Buddy was a real cowboy. He enjoyed working cattle, calf roping, and working with horses. Buddy was a pilot and enjoyed buzzing over his family home for fun in his younger years.
Buddy worked as a carpenter building homes and helping friends or family with projects. He was also an accomplished truck driver and was recognized by the National Safety Council for his outstanding driving record. Buddy had many talents and trades.
Buddy was a loving husband, caring father, and best friend to many. He made friends everywhere he went and has never met a stranger. He was crazy about his grandchildren and was so proud of them. He loved hunting, writing letters to loved ones, joking around with his nieces and nephews, and spending time with his darling wife.
Buddy is preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters Evelyn Galloway, Alice Craighead, Shirley Crook, and his nieces Darlene and Allison and nephew Kenneth.
Buddy is survived by his loving wife of 37 years Kathleen N. Weatherly and his sister Ruby Pyeatt. He is also survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Tauna Bomnskie and Michael Pullen, Brandee and Justin Faughn; stepsons and daughter-in-law, Hans and Keyna Anderson, and Lance Anderson. He leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services are being arranged by Memorial Funeral Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on May 14, 2020 at Zion Church of Kurten. Burial to follow at Ryan Cemetery in Cleveland Texas at 4:00 pm.
