

He was born on August 5, 1941 as one of seven children and was a lifelong resident of Bryan. He is preceded in death by his father Pete Fazzino, mother Nita (Church) Fazzino, sister Kathryn Marino, sister Dorothy Cummings, sister Rosie Sebek.
He is survived by wife of 55 years Phyllis (Grizzaffi) Fazzino, son Johnny, son Phillip and his wife Amanda and their children Luke and Siena, sister Bennie Belknap, brother Pete Anthony and his wife Cindy Fazzino, sister Mary Frances Hardin.
He lived a life marked by faith, family and friendship and was a dedicated member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church where he served as chairman for many years of the annual fundraising bazaar, chairman of the St. Anthony’s Men’s Club, treasurer of the Knight of Columbus along with other capacities such as Eucharistic minister, Altar service training, St. Anthony advisory board, Financial Committee chairman, Pastoral council, Building committee, Marriage counselor for engaged couples through the Sponsored Couple program, was involved in the annual Spaghetti Dinner and Usher for over 60 years. He also was active for many years as a soccer coach for his sons and Cub Scouts.
He graduated at Stephen F. Austin high school in Bryan in 1960.
He received his Bachelor of Administration degree at Texas A&M University in 1965 where he also served in the Corps of Cadets. Upon completing his degree he served as a platoon leader in the U.S. Army.
He worked for the Texas A&M University system for over 60 years. During his expansive career he held the title of Assistant Vice Chancellor for Administrative Services, Director and Assistant Director for Risk and Compliance with the Agrilife Extension Service.
Johnny’s legacy of faith, kindness and love will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1515 South College Avenue, Bryan, Texas 77801, on September 17, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Joseph Catholic Church, 600 E 26th St, Bryan, Texas 77803, on September 18, 2026, at 10:30 am.
