

Jose Arausa Ybarra, 76, passed away Friday April 1, 2011, at his home in Bryan. Funeral mass will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, at Santa Teresa Catholic Church in Bryan. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, April 4, with a 7 p.m. rosary at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
Jose was born July 14, 1934, in Hondo to Juan and Gregoria (Arausa) Ybarra. He retired after 25 years of service at Texas A&M University as a grounds keeper. He was a member of Santa Teresa Catholic Church. Jose loved spending time and playing with all of his grandchildren.
Jose is preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Gregoria; brother, Thomas Ybarra; sister, Trine Ybarra; and a great-grandson, Anjel Ayala.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Trina Ybarra of Bryan; daughter and son-in-law, Josie and Leroy Garrison of Bryan; son and daughter-in-law, Canuto Jr. and Margaret Ayala of Midland; sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen Esparza, Jessica and Bill Holden, Linda and Eloy Espinoza, Janie Caston, and Maria Montoya; brother and sister-in-law, Paul Sr. and Mary Ybarra; 3 granddaughters, Monica Ayala, Crystal Gibb and husband Robbie, Valerie Garrison; great-great-grandchildren, Daniel, Lassett, C'-era and Cruzito Ayala, Joshua Lee Balderas; great-great-grandson, Joseph Anjel Ayala; and numerous nieces and, nephews that he loved so much.
Who ever came to visit he welcomed them and treated them like family. He was always there when someone needed help.
We would like to thank Dr. Terry Jenkins, Dr. Boone Barrow and his assistant Jayme, Hospice Brazos Valley and Magdalena Ramirez for all their help in his time of need.
I'm going to miss you dad, love always your daughter Josie. Gig'em Aggies.
