

Josey dedicated much of her life to serving others. She worked for General Telephone and Electronics (GTE) for 24 years, taught and nurtured young minds at Saint Michael’s, and volunteered as a chaplain at Saint Joseph Hospital. She also hosted Bible studies among friends and found joy in visiting, singing, and laughing with her family and loved ones. Josey touched countless lives through her strong faith, which was at the very heart of who she was.
Josey and Tony first met in 7th grade and later married after Tony returned from military service. High school sweethearts, they shared 52 years of marriage filled with love, faith, and devotion to family. Together, they raised three children and were blessed with nine grandchildren.
Josey is preceded in death by her parents, Ascencion and Rosa Bruna Almanza; father-in-law and mother-in-law Alberto and Gregoria Medina; her grandson, Andrew Medina; her brothers, Jose Antonio Almanza and Ace Almanza; her sister and brother-in-law, Mercedes and Gilbert Adams; brother-in-law Frank Aguiree; brother-in-law Pete and Dee Medina, brother-in-law Domingo Medina, and sister-in-law Santos Gomez and sister-in-law Carmelita Medina; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Antonio Medina; their children, Adrian Medina, Amy and Isabell Guerrero, and Antonio Jr. and Megan Medina; and her grandchildren, Alex, Taylor, Carlos, Emma, Mia, Aubree, Mariah, and Veronica. She is also survived by her siblings, Saturnino (Tony) and Mary Almanza, Jesse Almanza, Erasmo and Gloria Almanza, Pedro and Sandy Almanza, Melinda Aguirre, Janie and Tony Hernandez, Olga Sauseda, and Shirley Almanza.
Josey is further survived by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Paul and Peggy Medina, Mary Medina, Jessie and Marie Medina, Ricky Medina, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. before the service at the funeral home.
