Joyce Evelyn Westbrook, age 87, of Stillwater, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday January 26, 2019. Joyce was born July 26, 1931 in Bryan, Texas. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Friday, February 1st at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. A funeral service is scheduled for 10:30 AM, Saturday, February 2nd at Reliance Baptist Church, with Reverend Ray Marshall officiating. Interment will follow in the Reliance Cemetery.
Joyce was the daughter of Welton Lewis and Evelyn Aline (Lloyd) McMellon. She was a member of Reliance Baptist Church and the bookkeeper at the Bryan Cotton Warehouse until her retirement in 1990. In 2014, she and her husband Terry moved to Stillwater, OK to be near her daughter and her grandson. Joyce enjoyed being around people and loved to cook; especially baking and decorating cakes for all of the special events for her family and friends. Although she never played sports herself, she loved to attend all of her grandson's sporting events.
Mrs. Westbrook was preceded in death by her parents, Welton and Aline McMellon; three brothers, Joel W. McMellon, Wilmer McMillan, and Doug McMillan.
Survivors include her loving husband of 60 years, Terry L. Westbrook; daughter, Jean Evelyn McKinley and her husband, Craig; grandson, Scott McKinley and his wife Brittany; two great granddaughters, Molly Hope McKinley and Chloe Elizabeth McKinley; one brother, J.D. McMellon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Reliance Baptist Church.
