Visitation will be from 6 pm until 8 pm, Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Memorial Funeral Home in Bryan. Graveside services will be at Bryan City Cemetery on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 2:00 pm.
Kat was born in Calvert, Texas on April 30, 1921 to Marcel and Martha Brouskie Kuyawa. She lived on a farm with her eight siblings, where they raised many vegetables. Her mother died when she was still very young.
Katherine moved to Bryan with one of her sisters, where she met and later married Leonard Mousner on September 18, 1943. They had two sons, Robert and Richard Mousner. Katherine was a stay-at-home mom and enjoyed cooking and sewing. Cooking for her family on holidays was always a big treat, as her chicken and dumplings were always a big hit. She loved sewing clothes for her granddaughter and looking after her grandchildren. Flowers were always a favorite of hers and she meticulously tended her flower beds. She was also fond of animals, especially cats.
Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard “Bub” Mousner; her son, Robert Mousner; grandson, Zachary Mousner; daughter-in-law, Cyndi Mousner; her brothers, Theodore, Joe, and Johnny Kuyawa; her sisters, Helen Slovacek, Vicky Sabo, Frances Koudelka, Gertrude Forman and Ann Henley.
She is survived by her son, Richard Mousner, of Navasota; granddaughters, Katie Mousner of Austin, and Caroline Mousner of Durango, Co; her daughter-in-law, Lydia Mousner of College Station; grandsons, Chad McCartney (Crystal), Brandon McCartney (Amanda), and Dusty McCartney (Amanda); and great-grandchildren, Andrew, Tyler, Ashlyn, KatieBelle, Tanner, Easton, Luke and Hunter McCartney; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
