Kathy was born in Mart, Texas to Ona Lee and Etta Viola Gibson. After graduating high school, Kathy aspired to be a singer, however, God had other plans and her family quickly became her priority. Aside from raising her children, Kathy enjoyed planning weddings, making wedding cakes and was an exceptional seamstress. Kathy will always be remembered for her cooking skills, her love for her family, her contagious laugh, spending time with her grandchildren, and her door was always open to anyone. She could make you smile and light up the room with a funny story or joke. She enjoyed outings and vacationing with her family and friends and one of her favorite things in life was sitting outside on a beautiful Spring Day.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents John Henry and Ella Mae Gibson, Frank and Jewel Klinglesmith, her sisters Linda Faye Foster, Inez Sanchez, Willie Grace Gibson, Juanita Gibson, brother Tommy Charles Gibson, her son Victor Louis Perkins, III, and various nieces and nephews. She is survived by her sisters Jewel Anderson, Koquilla Loys Hannibal, lifelong friend and sister Karen Callaway, her son, Shawn Lee Perkins, daughter and son-in-law Linda and Joseph Foster, four grandchildren, Daniel Shawn, Kamryn Lee, Nicklos Wayne, Charity Nickole, one great-grandchild, Raya Diane, and many nieces and nephews.
