A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at 10:00 am at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Kitti was born October 9, 1945 in Bryan, Texas and the youngest of 10. It became evident early on that Kitti was a nurturer of family, friends and animals, alike. If you knew Kitti, you may have been graced by her as a mother figure, as a sister, a friend, an Aunt or an Advocate. You didn’t have to be family to enjoy her care, generosity and nurture. Kitti’s caregiver personality and her sister, Patti, naturally led her to decades of involvement with the ARC and Brazos Valley Self-Advocates in both leadership and individual capacities. She was thrilled to plan and often host New Year’s, 4th of July and Halloween parties for the Advocates. It gave her so much joy to spread happiness among members of the special needs community. She held a great passion for all animals - from spoiled Maltese furbabies to the wild animals (deer, fox, raccoons, opossum) she could observe at her home. Kitti raised rabbits, chickens, pheasants, and most recently cats.
Kitti was preceded in death by her parents; 4 brothers, William Stone, Jimmy G Stone, Clyde Stone, and Richard Stone, Jr.; 3 sisters, Marie (PeeWee) Jojola, Josephine Jordan and Loraine Grant.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, L.J. Ruffino; sister, Patricia Stone; and brother, Morris Stone; sister-in-law, Carole Stone of Findlay, Ohio; brother-in-law, Ray Jojola of Georgetown, Texas; Edna Stone of Bryan; Andy (and Sheryl) Ruffino; Marie Bewley; Nicolyn (and Joe) Hankle; and numerous beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and their respective families. Although it’s said that favorites are frowned upon, it was no secret that neighboring cousins were top of the list along with her great great nephew.
Thank you for the love and care provided by Luminos Hospice, John Lampo, RN Kameron C., HCA Olivia K., Laura Jojola and Pauline Marino.
Memorials may be made in honor of Kitti to St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Texas Self Advocates or the local animal shelters of your choice.
