Lanie Claire Galvan

Lanie Claire Galvan was born on February 22, 2026, in Austin, Texas. She was born at 30 weeks gestation, weighing just 1 pound, 13 ounces, at St. David’s North Austin Medical Center. Lanie entered into the arms of Jesus peacefully on August 31, 2026, at six months old in her mama’s arms. We know she is now perfectly healed and in the glory of God.

At five weeks old, Lanie was diagnosed with a rare medical condition called MIRAGE Syndrome. On April 2, she was transferred to Dell Children’s Medical Center, where she received specialized care and was surrounded by the people who loved her most.

From the very beginning, Lanie showed everyone just how strong she was. She was a tiny fighter with a personality much bigger than her size. She loved kicking her feet in her isolette and breaking her arms out of every swaddle, earning herself the nickname of needing to be in “arm jail.” She even managed to pull out her breathing tube multiple times, reminding everyone that she was determined to do things her own way.

Lanie’s bed always had to be made up with her favorite pink blankets. She loved her mobile, her mirror, and her singing cow. But most of all, she loved her pink hedgehog, a special gift from her favorite nurse, “Miss Melodye.”

She loved when Mama and Dada came to play with her, and she especially loved when her big brother, Brooks, got to come see her. The moments they shared will forever be treasured.

Though Lanie’s time here was far too short, she left an immeasurable mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. She was deeply loved, fiercely fought for, and will never be forgotten. Her tiny life carried a love that was anything but small.

Lanie is survived by her parents, Josh and Caitlin, and her big brother, Brooks; her grandparents, Pops, Lovey, Papa, Mimi, and Gigi; her aunts, Macie, Sarah, Lauren, Jordan, and Solana; her uncles, Josh, Chris, Clay, Emmanuel, Christian, James, Braden, and Adam; and her cousins, Andrea, Brooke, Avery, Reese,Tinsley, Jack, Colton, Stetson and Beau.

In honor of Lanie and the many people who cared for and loved her throughout her journey, the Galvan family asks that donations be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities or Dell Children’s Medical Center in her memory.

Visitation will be from 9:30-11:30 am Friday, September 4 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Please wear Lanie's favorite color, pink.
