Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday December 10 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan with interment to follow at Bryan City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
LaVerne was born January 14, 1947 in Houston the daughter of Thomas D. and LaVerne Meehan. She resigned from Exxon Co. USA after meeting her soul mate and the love of her live Chester Price in 1978. A single mother of two, she gained five more children she loved dearly after marrying Chester. Everyone knew they were a true spark of love from the very beginning, they were always together. She treasured family, dear friends, fishing, play cards, dominoes and gardening.
Laverne was known for her loving heart, upbeat personality and always having a smile that would light up any room. She never missed a birthday, anniversary, or holiday to have with her family and dear friends. LaVerne and Tina experienced a relationship that most have never seen, unconditional love and compassion. Their laughter was always cherished, as Laverne would say, “laughter is the best medicine”.
LaVerne is preceded in death by her husband, Chester Price; brother, James Meehan, brothers-in-law, Henry Steverson, Kenneth Price and R.V. Tiner; sister-in-law, Charlcie Steverson and Louise Price.
She is survived by her daughter, Tina Peaugh; stepdaughters, Cathy Clements and husband Wayne, Dawn Hickman, Jennifer Stelzig and husband, Jim, Molly Boyd and husband, Shannon; sons, Robert Nathan Price and Rober Moore; sisters, Gayle Jones and husband Kyle, Susan Phillips and husband Herman, LaPrelle Tiner, Brenda Walden and husband Gerald, Patrica Price; brothers, James Price and wife Ruth, Larry Price and Charles “Bimbo” Price and wife Tutti; grandchildren, Cory McClain, Courtney Neil and husband Ryan, Jesse Peaugh, James Peaugh, Micaela Price, Mackenzie Price, Steven Clements, Jessica Clements, Will Stelzig, Wyatt Stelzig, Gavin Boyd, Sawyer Boyd and Bella Rhea Boyd; great-grandchildren, Shane and Jack Clements; and numerous cousins.
The family would like to thank, Dr. Samuel Barina , nurse Joycelin and the entire nursing staff at St. Joseph Manor for all of their love and care to LaVerne.
