Lena was born on August 21, 1927, in Bryan, Texas, to Frank Cemino and Annie Licce Cemino. She was only five years old when her mother passed away. A few years later, her father married Lena Sache, who lovingly became a second mother to Lena and her late sister, Bonnie.
Lena was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Annie Cemino; her wonderful stepmother, Lena Cemino; her beloved husband, Frank Patranella; her son, John Anthony Patranella; her sons-in-law, Gary Wolfe and Jimmy Wolfe; her sister, Bonnie Lampo; and her great-granddaughter, Allyson Bridwell.
She is survived by her daughters, Laura Wolfe and Anne Wolfe of College Station, Texas; Teresa and Bobby Davis of Edge, Texas; and Judi and Greg Haas of Bryan, Texas; her sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Doris Patranella of Bryan, Texas; Charlie Patranella of Rockdale, Texas; and Anthony Patranella of Bryan, Texas.
Lena leaves behind a loving legacy through her grandchildren: LeaAnn Howell (John), Bryan Wolfe (Melany), Cindy Stolowski (Glenn), Michael Wolfe (Catherine), Mark Wolfe (Dawn), Matt Wolfe (Jo Beth), Frank Patranella (Brent), Liz Zeig (Joey), Sarah Zeig (David), John Morgan Patranella, Kelly Campbell (Wes), Carter Davis (Layne), Jacob Davis (Grace), Madison Pensado (Ruben), and Mackenzie Zachria (Anthony); she was blessed with 38 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and Godchildren, all of whom she loved dearly.
Lena was a woman of deep and unwavering Catholic faith. She was a lifelong member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and an active member of the Altar Society. Lena faithfully attended daily Mass whenever she was able, and her faith guided the way she lived her life, always placing God and family first. She found great joy in caring for those she loved, especially through her cooking and baking. Her homemade banana bread became a favorite among family and friends and was just one of the many ways she showed her love.
More than anything, Lena treasured her family. She never missed an opportunity to remind them how much they meant to her, ending every conversation with her signature words, “Love you more.” Those three simple words became a lasting reminder of the unconditional love she shared with everyone blessed to know her.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Luminos Hospice, and to her devoted caregivers, Joyce Alwell and Irma Ayala, for their compassionate care, kindness, and comfort they provided during Lena’s final days.
Lena will be remembered for her strength, her unwavering faith, her generous heart, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. Her legacy of faith, kindness, devotion, and family will continue to live on through the generations she cherished. She will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew her.
