

Lena Frances Fazzino Restivo, 68, formerly of Bryan, TX, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016 in her home in Fairfax Station, VA. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, February 28th from 4:00 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, February 29th at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Bryan with Fr. Joseph Varickamackal officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Bryan, followed by a reception.
Lena was born in Bryan, TX to Nick Fazzino and Sara Falco. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin high school then married Johnny Dean Restivo, LtCol USMC Retired, also of Bryan, TX in 1966. She began her life of travel around the world as a Marine Corps Officer’s wife. Her favorite place she lived was in Monterrey, CA. She also lived in Florida, California, Maryland, Texas, North Carolina, Ohio, Virginia, and Japan. She loved playing tennis throughout her life and was the #1 ranked tennis player on all the local military bases while living in Japan. While in Ohio, she took flight lessons and earned her flight safety certification. Lena also had the opportunity twice to visit her grandparents’ ancestral hometown of Poggioreale, Sicily.
She and Johnny started their family with the birth of their sons, Dean and Marco and soon became guardians for her nephew, Nicklos. After Marco left for college, Lena began her 22-year career in real estate with Weichert Realtors in Fairfax, VA, and was a top producer in her market. She was an active member of St. Mary of Sorrows church in Fairfax VA; she was involved in the church youth groups and activities, the Italian Heritage Society, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, and Knights of Columbus Ladies of Virginia group.
Lena collected art and antiques from around the world, and enjoyed interior decorating. She taught herself to design and create stained glass windows, Oshie Japanese artwork, and Japanese flower arranging. Lena also learned to be a seamstress at a very young age.
Lena is preceded in death by her parents and brother, John Nick Fazzino.
Lena is survived by her husband Johnny Dean Restivo, LtCol USMC Retired, of Fairfax Station, VA; son, Dean A. Restivo of Alexandria, VA; son, Marco B. Restivo and Shannon M. Fink of Centreville, VA; two grandchildren, Derek S. Restivo McCubbin of Alexandria, VA and Oliver Nicholas Restivo, of Centreville, VA; sister, Lunetta M. Fazzino of Tucson, AZ; nephew, Nicklos R. Fazzino and his wife Rachael of San Antonio, TX; and many other family and friends.
